I have friends who try to disprove the evidence of Biblical truth? Why do people do this?
There are particular reasons why people try to disprove the evidence of Biblical truth. They have been deceived into a belief system that denies God, the Bible, and the truths of Christianity. We know from Hebrews 11:6 that “…without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.†Based on this verse, and others like it, I would encourage you to contrast your “faithâ€with your friends “faithâ€. What I mean is, let your friends know that they have a “faith†in what truth is based on their worldview and you have “faith†in what truth is based on your worldview. Then challenge the person with the logical result of their “faith†and give testimony as to the logical result of your “faithâ€, i.e. true faith in God and the Bible results in one’s eternal destiny in Heaven being secure and one’s life on earth now being meaningful and fulfilling. The truth from God’s Word and your testimony of knowing Jesus will impact the person more than any debate on archaeological evidence.
May the Lord bless you as you seek to answer the questions of your critics with the ultimate Answer from God, even His Son, Jesus Christ. Notice John 14:5-6, “…we do not know…how can we know…Jesus said…I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.â€
